Are you newly or recently qualified within a Top 6 firm and looking for a career developing opportunity to make the move into industry?

I am working with a FTSE listed, international organisation that is looking for an exceptional individual to join them in the Group Finance Function. We are seeking an intelligent, adaptable and resourceful candidate with excellent academics. You will be able to prove a swift and progressive path through your career to date and be looking for a challenging and sometimes demanding opportunity that will offer unrivalled career development.

A program to continuously improve and to provide a "best in class" service to the business has initiated a global transformation programme, from which this newly created position has arisen. You will be working within an accomplished, high calibre team of individuals who will offer a supportive and developmental environment. This role will operate within Group Finance, who will be leading the external reporting activities. The successful candidate will work closely with senior financial management in both London and our key regions around the world. The role is essential to delivering the external financial reporting that is key to informing investors about our business and managing their expectations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Preparation of the Group year end and half yearly schedules (including goodwill, intangible assets, investments in associates, non-controlling interests, operating leases, share options, financial instruments, segmental reporting)
  • Preparation of the back half of the annual report and interim results
  • Ensure compliance with all IFRS disclosure requirements
  • Dealing with the Group’s external auditors
  • Preparation of the Group’s UK-based subsidiary financial statements under FRS 102
  • Work closely with the Group Tax Manager to ensure transfer pricing rates and entries are reviewed and understood from a subsidiary entity perspective
  • Completion of iXBRL tagging of the statutory accounts
  • Improving the efficiency of the subsidiary account filings, both accounts and tax filings, through the exploration of new system solutions
  • Review new accounting standards and prepare financial accounting papers summarising their impact (e.g. IFRS 16 Leases, IFRS 15 Revenue and IFRS 9 Financial Instruments)
  • Conduct a review of the Group’s property leases and venue leases – and complete other ad hoc reviews as required
  • Assist the local teams with their completion of monthly cash flow reporting and ultimately become involved in the Group review and challenge of the local monthly submissions
  • Technical accounting treatment, e.g. acquisition accounting (including valuation of acquired intangible assets), impairment reviews

You will be a fully qualified accountant, almost certainly ACA from a top six firm, with a passion to step into an international business. Alternatively, you may have already made the move to industry and be looking for a new challenge. Most important of all however, is your attitude and aptitude. This role will provide a platform for career progression - it is your desire and ability to deliver upon your commitments that will realise that opportunity.

Barribal Associates and the organisations it represents are fully committed to equal opportunities and encourage applications from any age, disability, gender, marital status, race, nationality, religion or sexual orientation.
