Financial Controller

Our client is an exciting, steadily growing and highly profitable PE backed consumer product business with a bright, fast paced, entrepreneurial culture. With a consistent record of growth spanning c10 years the business is continuing to develop and expand its proposition. The business is design led with a design team based in the UK and products manufactured (outsourced) abroad and imported.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Director, an astute and proactive Financial Controller is now required to assist the business in achieving its growth plans in a controlled and professional manner.

• Working closely with the Finance Director and Founders of the business, the FC will support the day-to-day management of the business’s operations as well as Finance in particular.
• Experience in developing systems, processes, controls and MI are all key aspects of this broad role.
• Being a key member of the senior management team the role will cover both control and reporting AND commercial/operational support right from the start.
• The FC will manage a team of 5 staff in finance.

The Candidate

• Qualified Accountant with experience in a business which supplies products (as opposed to services) ie encompassing the financial implications of holding and managing stock;
• A strong base of experience in management accounting and developing business processes and controls combined with plenty of initiative;
• This is a hands on role; Candidates must have a “sleeves rolled up” attitude, be thoroughly self motivated and possess a confident and approachable manner in working with staff at all levels
