Operational Financial Controller

This leading FMCG manufacturer has received significant capital investment recently and is now on target to achieve £100m turnover in the next few years. The business is led by an ambitious and driven team of sector specialists who share the desire to bring industry leading products to market. The CFO is now seeking to invest in the senior team and a new vacancy has now arisen in the finance department for a qualified accountant looking to add value to the operational and commercial areas of a manufacturing business. Key duties will include:

• Production of monthly management accounts packs, weekly KPIs, board reports
• Preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
• Responsible for commercial finance including reporting, processes, pricing, product costings and gross margin analysis
• Business partner with operations to develop daily KPI reporting and review site performance to drive efficiency
• Analyse and present capital expenditure proposals and promote cost optimisation initiatives.
• Analysis of overheads and supporting supplier negotiations
• Managing and forecasting cash flow on a daily, weekly and quarterly basis
• Review and approve product costings and NPD

The position will involve a lot of stakeholder management including banks and external funders, board members and shareholders in addition to key suppliers, blue chip customers and internal departmental managers. The ideal candidate for this role will be a dynamic accountant with experience of operating as a Finance Business Partner in a medium / large company or a Commercial Management Accountant looking for a step up. The position will offer a lot of operational exposure across a plant manufacturing environment and candidates must be confident enough to challenge current methods and suggest and implement improvements. You will also work closely with the Group Financial Controller on projects.
