An exciting and rare opportunity has become available for a Group Financial Accountant to join a globally renowned business in the Support Services sector based in Surrey. The hiring manager describes this role as:

"Reporting into the Group Finance Manager, you will support the group external reporting team in preparing accurate, timely and relevant external and internal financial reporting. You'll work with the group's global finance community to analyse, improve and standardise financial reporting."

This role would be ideal for an individual looking to work for a multinational Support Services company with the opportunity to further progress their careers within an exciting and vibrant business. Furthermore, the ideal candidate will be comfortable dealing with ambiguity in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; have a strong appetite to learn new skills and processes; and will be a creative and analytical problem solver.

To successfully deliver in this high-profile position, you will need to:

  • Be an ACA qualified Accountant, ideally from a Big 4 background, with experience of auditing group consolidated accounts under IFRS.
  • Strong ability with excel and familiarity with consolidation
  • Experience of and interest in researching technical IFRS accounting issues ideally in a group (FTSE250) organisation.
  • Good communication and organisational skills with the ability to build strong relationships with the key people in the regions and other parts of the organisation.
  • The ability to meet tight deadlines and to work on multiple tasks and have a flexible approach to work.
  • A flexible approach to travel as there may occasionally be a requirement to attend overseas meetings.

A little more information about the role:

  • You will be responsible for preparing the financial content of the group's external reports at regular intervals.
  • You will offer continuous development of monthly analysis and consolidation schedules, working with the group systems team to ensure that the information is both on time and accurate.
  • You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining working relationships within the group's global finance community.
  • You will support the external reporting team to provide IFRS and accounting guidance across the group where necessary.
  • You will support group treasury with the accounting for the group's debt, explaining the numbers and offering ways in which the business can make improvements in the future.
