Project Finance Manager - Transformation - 12 months
Hertfordshire
£400 per day
An outstanding opportunity to join a dynamic Finance Transformation Programme at a leading listed organisation on a 12 month interim Project as Project Finance Manager.
The Programme covers a number of transformational projects across functions and business units, which aims to drive step change in capability across the business.
The Project Finance Manager is responsible for the robust accounting and reporting of costs, benefits and KPI's across Programme. This is a multi-year business wide transformation programme.
The Role:
-Supports the programme team in the delivery of robust financial and management information covering period end reporting, forecasting and budgeting of cost and benefits by work stream
-Provides Programme management team with timely, understandable and robust benefit & cost information to aid decision making
-Supports the phase 2 in definition and analysis of financial and non-financial KPIs, and other Financial measures
-Works to make sure that benefits are delivered in line with forecasts and budgets
-Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency and control, working closely with the Programme and work-stream leadership
-Works with wider Finance organisation in areas impacted by the business and supports wider modelling and analysis of Financial data
Key Responsibilities:
Set-up of Programme
-Setup of the Programme in financial systems
-Development with work-stream and tower leads of agreed measures and metrics
-Finalising of agreed Baselines for Programme
-Define and agree reporting and benefit tracking with programme team
Periodic
-Prepare robust and accurate period-end accounts for programme in line with the group timetable
-Period end review and processing:
-Post cost accruals as required, ensure cost allocations are correct
-Highlight and manage variations to project cost baselines including sign off to any changes to baselines
-Support reporting of People and Non People Benefits including tight linkage to
Establishment management in HR
-Development of reports
-Work with Towers and Workstreams to:
-Offer financial control support and expertise
-Understand variances to budget, forecast for each workstream
-Ensure periodic numbers at all levels reflect an up-to-date view of all costs
-Review and Sign off Financial & KPI measures
-Produce insightful analysis and reporting of costs and benefits to programme
Budget/forecast
-Collect and collate budget and forecast data covering costs, benefits and KPI's
-Provide supporting analysis
Business partnering
-Work with a variety of stakeholders (including senior management) to proactively drive budget and quarterly forecasting for the programme
-Support analysis of data and definition of KPI's at a programme, tower and workstream level
-Be first point of contact for financial queries in benefit or costs
-Highlight potential opportunities and flag potential risks
Audit & Control
-Identify opportunities for process improvement to improve efficiency and control
-Prepare and provide necessary cost and benefits for the external audit
The successful candidate will be an immediately available ACA / CIMA / ACCA qualified accountant with proven experience working on a Finance Transformation or Change programme in a large complex / Matrix organisation. You will have a solid understanding of financial and accounting principles. Strong analytical and interpretative skills and the ability to identify issues, be proactive and subsequently problem solve through to resolution. The ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver quality output in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment. Some project experience is highly desirable.
