Due to the phenomenal growth and investment of this major UK & International media brand, this is a new role within a new central commercial team, created to support brand directors on a mixture of strategic and operational projects to drive the future direction of the business.

We are looking for a Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA), either newly qualified or up to 2 years PQE, with experience gained in a commercial finance business partnering role.

In particular someone who can cut through the ambiguity of innovative projects and manage a big investment budget.

The role will require you to engage heavily with senior execs and be the finance lead on steering group meetings, as well as partnering the insight and innovation teams to ensure commercial decisions are right both for customers and the business.

We are looking for an engaging personality who is able to challenge key stakeholders (Marketing, HR, Finance Systems & Global Property) and get the point across in layman's terms. It's imperative that you are able to relate to non-finance and view things though a customer focus lens.

Due to the amount of investment and innovative project nature of this role, excellent Excel modelling and strong PowerPoint skills are required.

With a strong commercial background, you will have worked closely with functional leaders and be adept at communicating with a variety of differing stakeholders. If you are resilient and confident of your own belief that you can shape the future of this market leading media brand, then this is the role for you.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and embed monthly accounting, analytical insight and reporting that supports Functional managers to work more effectively.
  • Support the Functions with insightful and reliable financial analysis to underpin business cases and other strategic and tactical investment decisions.
  • Ensure monthly accounts reflect actual performance, ensuring all costs are captured and understood.
  • Ensure insight from monthly result is appropriately reflected in budgets and forecasts, with proactive support to the Functional teams to manage any risks and opportunities.
  • Understand, challenge and submit all Functional budgets and forecasts.
  • Own the delivery of budget and forecast templates.
  • Anticipate issues that will impact and recommend options to the Finance Director for presentation to the Board of Directors.
  • Provide high quality information to Functional Directors to allow them to understand performance. Develop processes so that all regular reporting can be delivered in a standardised and highly automated manner from BI tools.
