Our client is looking for a tax specialist at a senior level.
The role provides a good range of work for someone with a solid basic tax background wishing to broaden their experience and to get involved in helping with planning.
THE ROLE -
You will currently be working at a similar or equivalent level and are likely to be operating in Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and/or surrounding areas. However applicants looking to relocate to the area will also be considered.
The office has a strong reputation in the area and clients are generally private clients, with owner - managed businesses, landed estates and farms. Therefore the successful applicant must possess strong personal tax experience.
The tax team this role sits within, consists of 8 staff and over 700 personal tax clients. The successful applicant will be responsible for their own portfolio of high net worth private clients, involved in the preparation of tax returns, and in the administration of the portfolio. Reporting will mainly be to the department's senior manager.
The allocation of work includes preparation of SA returns for private clients and wealthy individuals, as well as for UK resident trusts, preparation of business tax computations, CGT computations on the disposal of securities, chattels and property, and all related aspects of looking after the complex tax affairs of a variety of high net worth private clients.
Experience of the following is desirable but not essential:
Trusts, employment tax, EIS, VCT, accounts preparation, claims and elections and residence and domicile experience.
Education and experience
Candidates should be ACA qualified and may be CTA qualified/part qualified or be willing to study for CTA or ATT qualified and willing to study for CTA.

In order to manage their own portfolio, prioritisation and organisational skills are essential to ensure all deadlines are met.
