Our client, a national household name, is looking to find an articulate, bright and technically strong Finance Manager for a newly created position within their sizeable finance function in Kent. Managing a team of 3, this role will take responsibility for two Group companies, delivering reporting and statutory requirements and management accounts and acting as a key contact for both auditors and internal queries.

Key responsibilities to include:

  • Lead the delivery of timely and accurate monthly financial reporting, tracking the company's position
  • Management of the balance sheet and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Continuous approach to reviewing and improving processes and controls, ensuring the control framework is adequate and relevant improvements made
  • Ensuring IFRS standards are adhered to and any relevant changes made where appropriate
  • Delivery of balance sheet variance analysis and reporting
  • Acting as a key point of contact for external auditors
  • Manage and review risks and opportunities
  • Ensure strong communication is maintained across the finance department and wider business
  • Build relationships with external parties and ensure all external reporting requirements are met
  • Preparation and delivery of corporation tax returns, VAT and financial statements

Candidates will be formally qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) and possess strong technical accounting experience, demonstrating up to date experience with current accounting standards. A strong focus on processes and controls will be key, together with the ability and desire to improve these processes and controls. Previous staff management experience would be advantageous, in addition to a detailed orientated and analytical approach. This role would suit candidates with a grounding in practice that are perhaps looking for a 2nd move within industry. Medium to large company experience would be preferential. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading blue chip business that can offer long term career development within a supportive and dynamic environment.
Unfortunately, due to the high number of applications currently being received, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
