A large, well known construction company are looking to add to the team as they continue to grow.
About the job
As Accountant you would be expected to carry out the following duties & responsibilities:
- Managing daily & weekly reports
- Budgeting & forecasting
- Supporting Assistant Accountants in preparation of journal calculations
- Support Finance Manager in day to day running of accounting team
- Statutory accounts and statutory reporting
- Developing and implementing SAP
- Working within the accounts team ensuring all monthly management accounts are produced on time
- Responsibility for all areas of the P&L and balance sheet, producing monthly management accounts with variance analysis & commentary
- Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Ensure reconciliations completed each month
- Ensure monthly & quarterly VAT returns are completed on time
- Dealing with any queries or a TAX or legal nature, liaising with HMRC, the Auditors or any other relevant body to ensure compliance.
About the person
- A qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA or international equivalent) or by qualified by experience (QBE)
- Ideally, previous manufacturing/distribution/retail/wholesale sector experience
- Experience with multi-currency
- Ability to travel within the role, on occasion
- Oracle or strong ERP experience
- Experience in producing management accounts, to month end
