Head of Finance (interim to permanent)

Our client is a profitable and growing owner managed business with turnover c£20m based in Trafford Park with satellite branches across the North West.

The role is a finance director cum financial controller role and is wide ranging, encompassing both hands on accounting as well as higher level/commercial/strategic aspects of business support and strategic planning.

The Role

Reporting to the Managing Director, key responsibilities include:-

• All aspects of the day-to-day operation of the finance function;
• Production of monthly management accounts and MI;
• Operation of weekly/monthly payrolls;
• Working capital management including cashflow forecasting;
• Commercial finance support to the Managing Director and operations;
• Input business strategy and planning;
• Company Secretarial duties.

This is a permanent role but the business requires candidates who are available to start at one month’s notice or less in order to have a handover period with the outgoing Head of Finance.

The Candidate

Applicants must have experience of Financial Control in a “product” business. The role offers an excellent opportunity to play a key role at the heart of this successful business, to help drive its commercial performance at a time when the business’s key sales markets are expanding. There is the potential to promote the selected candidate to Finance Director of the business after a period of demonstration of suitable aptitude.
