As Director of Finance Reporting and Management Information you will develop, lead and manage the Financial Reporting and MI Team to deliver an important financial service to the business ensuring the provision of high quality financial and operational reports and analysis to enable optimal decision making by the Executive Team, Board and the wider business.

Detailed Job Description

Reporting to the Group Finance Director, this newly created position will be a key member and part of the expansion of the Finance leadership team.

As Director of Finance Reporting and Management Information you will develop, lead and manage the Financial Reporting and MI Team to deliver an important financial service to the business ensuring the provision of high quality financial and operational reports and analysis to enable optimal decision making by the Executive Team, Board and the wider business.

Key responsibilities of the role Include

  • Ensure the production and analysis of financial and business information, together with associated commentary to help develop an understanding of business health. 
  • Ensure the development and production of an agreed suite of performance reports with both internal and external data that monitors the health of the business.
  • Manage the delivery of annual and quarterly external statutory and regulatory reporting and manage the production of the annual financial statements, the statutory audit process and relationship with external auditors. 
  • Working closely with Business Change, ensure support is provided to new projects and that requirements for reporting are considered and planned and the benefits identified are tracked to realisation.

Candidate's Profile

You must be a CCAB Qualified Accountant (ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA) with proven experience of leading and developing teams in a large Finance function in a diverse organisation. You must have sound financial acumen and business focus with the ability to challenge the business and be comfortable leading on change.

Experience of leading on the preparation of consolidated Financial Statements for audit and the application of accounting standards is essential.

Ideally you will have proven experience of designing and implementing performance management frameworks and implementing a variety of performance reporting systems, both financial and other.

Excellent leadership skills with the ability to negotiate, influence and inspire will be critical to your success in this role. You will be managing a dispersed team of staff and will need to leverage a broader network internally and externally.

You will be required to confidently present complex information to all levels of the Group meaning excellent communication skills are another essential.

Previous experience operating in the social housing sector is desired.
