Vision-Redbridge Culture & Leisure (Vision) is a social enterprise and charitable Trust  responsible for managing a broad portfolio of leisure and cultural services on behalf of the London Borough of Redbridge, including libraries, leisure facilities, parks, events and a range of cultural and development activities. Established in 2007, Vision has built a successful track record, and in May 2011 the organisation significantly expanded to include a wider range of facilities and services with a turnover of £20m. The organisation balances a strong customer focus and commerciality, with its core aim to improve the quality of the lives of residents in and around the borough of Redbridge within the exacting financial constraints of the current public spending environment. The organisation is one of the country’s largest Leisure and Cultural Trusts and is now looking to make a key appointment and recruit a Chief Accountant.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, the key responsibility in this role will be to ensure successful management of the finance function, leadership on all finance related matters and performance within budget. You will be accountable for operating an appropriate system of financial controls relating to statutory accounts, and developing procedures to ensure robust financial information is provided to support the organisation in achieving strategic and business objectives. As the principal financial advisor to the Board of Director Trustees and the Senior Management Team, you will  be key in developing and maintaining the Medium Term Financial Strategy and work closely with Managers across the service divisions of Sport and Leisure, Libraries  and Culture, and Parks and Open Spaces to achieve the business objectives and drive the organisation forward.  We welcome applicants who wish to work flexibly, on a reduced hours’ basis or job share.

To succeed, you will be a qualified accountant with experience of financial management in a complex organisation, preferably within the commercial or Social Enterprise sector. You will be able to demonstrate evidence of improving processes and implementing appropriate changes as well as financial modelling for future Business Development and future projects. Pivotal to success will be building strong relationships with stakeholders, both internally and externally.
