Partner Financial is working with a private equity backed, global professional services business based in Central London. The business has been implementing their new strategic plan over the past 2 years, with strong success across the key regions, both through development and expansion of their service offering and various acquisitions.

An opportunity has arisen for a Financial Controller to lead the UK finance function and support the development of the larger group strategy. Reporting to the CFO, you will lead the financial reporting cycles for the UK, work closely with the shared service function to manage the month-end process and partner with internal operations and auditors to ensure strong financial controls are adhered to.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Support the CFO with the delivery of the UK controls
  • Own the month end, quarter end and year end close process for the UK
  • Support with the preparation of internal and external reporting for the UK
  • Work closely with and manage the UK team to deliver month end close activities, including balance sheet reconciliations
  • Manage the integrity of the financial data through a SOX control framework
  • Identify and recommend updates and improvements for the accounting systems and processes
  • Business partner with Legal, HR and the internal Finance functions
  • Manage the statutory and regulatory accounts and audit process for the UK
  • Act as the key point of contact for the internal and external auditors
  • Involved with ad-hoc projects assigned by the senior leadership team

This role requires a driven qualified accountant who has trained in practice. You will have a strong track record of maintaining financial control in a global and complex business and ideally have led the month end procedure in a shared services environment. To be successful in this role, you will be confident in liaising with and managing multiple board level stakeholders and be well versed in delivering against tight deadlines.
