Your new role
You will join an established and successful team that diversifies over several key areas of discipline. Your new role will report directly into the divisional Manager within the Practice. You will receive full Study Support in either ACA or ACCA in this role, which has arisen due to natural growth within the business. You should hold experience from a similar varied Accountancy Practice and be able to demonstrate your abilities.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role you should have sufficient experience in a similar Semi-Senior Accountant position within an Accountancy Practice. Your experience should be high quality, with a variety of clients, in order to succeed in this multi-faceted role.
A short summary of key duties can be found below:
- Assist other members of the department with administration duties
- Become proficient with Sage, Xero and other popular accountancy packages, progressing from interrogation report production to providing advice on basic processing
- Become proficient with the use of disclosure checklists
- Communicate effectively with clients on specific issues
- Liaise with the Department Manager on progress of assignment
- Look for opportunities for further work and discuss these with other team members/Department Manager
- Perform audit sections on more technically demanding audits as part of a team, under the direction of a Senior
- Plan, execute and complete small company audits, including accountancy work, as necessary, within set time frames and budgeted costs
- Prepare basic corporation tax computations
- Prepare financial statements for non-limited businesses and limited companies under all applicable accounting and legislative requirements
- Supervise more junior staff, either as senior on the job or as part of a team on larger assignments.
