An International development organisation with a commitment to alleviating poverty in some of the world's most challenging environments. The organisation has an operational budget of approx £20m.

Your new role
Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Head of Finance is accountable for all aspects of the financial management, operations and HR of the organisation, including all financial planning and analysis. You will oversee the day to day running of the finance team - overseeing administration and reporting of donations, payroll, statutory reporting, and record management. There are improvements that can be made to systems and processes and this will be a priority. The position is responsible for business services ensuring that leadership and its teams have the accurate information they need to deliver their objectives and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner. You will be responsible for a team of four altogether. The Head of Finance acts as a business partner to the Chief Executive and will regularly consult and advise on financial matters and strategy.


What you'll need to succeed
Qualifications

• Qualified accountant.

Experience

• A minimum of ten years progressive post-qualified experience in accounting and financial management, preferably in a non-profit, international development environment, with at least three years in a senior manager role
• Demonstrated experience in strategic business planning and review
• Demonstrated direct experience of financial reporting to the Board and major donors
• Experience with contracts and grants management, including cost recovery models and revenue management, as well as donor compliance
