Head of Finance

Our client is a c£10m turnover care homes business operating from multiple sites across the UK.  The business has recently completed a Private Equity backed buy-out  and has exciting plans to multiply in scale over the next 3 to 4 years. To support these plans a Head of Finance (#1 in Finance) is now required to lead and develop the finance function to PE standards as well as to partner the CEO in delivering on the business plan. It is intended that the Head of Finance should progress into the Finance Director role in due course.

The Role

Reporting to the Chief Executive, the key purpose of the role is to ensure that the business has the financial infrastructure and management information in place to support planned growth and to deliver well informed commercial decision making.

The initial focus of the role will be in developing the key functions of finance such as financial control, management information, budgeting and forecasting and working capital management to the standards expected by a Private Equity investor.

Thereafter the role’s focus will be more commercially oriented such as supporting delivery of the business plan, supporting commercial decision making, appraisal of new home development projects, preparation of presentations to bankers / Private Equity investors and other key stakeholders

The Candidate

A qualified accountant with sound business sense, you will combine strong financial control and management information skills with excellent interpersonal, communication and people management abilities.  It would be an advantage (although not essential) if you have worked in a multi-site business. A personality with a sense of urgency and purpose would fit in well.
