Gleeson Recruitment Group are looking to recruit a Finance Business Partner for a high profile client who are tasked with delivering a large infrastructure project across the UK. You will be a fully qualified accountant and will have extremely strong stakeholder engagement, project accounting and project management skills with the ability to influence and gain credibility quickly.
As the Finance Business Partner you will be reporting into the Financial Controller and you will provide financial support and critical analytical challenge to the construction directorate, to ensure the organisation achieves financial targets and delivers value for money within the budgets set by the comprehensive spending review. You will also be responsible for managing the relationship with a significant and high profile stakeholder group.
The Role:
As the Finance Business Partner no day will be the same and this role will provide variety and challenge for those that enjoy it. You will have full ownership of the numbers for your particular area and will undertake the following:
* Produce monthly and periodic finance reports and analysis for stakeholders in order to monitor and control spending within agreed targets.
* Complete monthly and quarterly reviews with project teams and budget holders, challenging actual costs, forecasts and variances, ensuring significant variances are reported with recommended action.
* Undertaking the annual business planning process to establish directorates' annual budgets are in line with planned programme delivery and ensure within the limits of the comprehensive spending review.
* Carry out financial analyses and business case evaluation in order to assist Directors in controlling budgets, ensuring value for money and adopting alternative financial strategies.
* Provide advice and guidance to budget holders on the application of financial processes and software systems to enable effective governance.
The Candidate:
As the successful Finance Business Partner you will be:
* A fully qualified accountant;
* Have demonstrable experience of preparing financial reports;
* Practiced in the development of budget setting and providing on-going challenge and review;
* Have experience of various accounting systems and utilising complex spreadsheets to provide value adding MI;
* Be able to interpret and communicate complex financial issues to non-financial colleagues;
* Have previous experience of working on major infrastructure projects and ideally having worked in the transport or construction sectors (Desirable not essential).
