Head of Finance

Ignata Finance are delighted to be partnering a leading insurance business in support of their search for a new Head of Finance. This is a high profile and visible role to be based out of their Brighton head office and will have accountability for ensuring the delivery of strong financial management within the reinsurance division.

Main responsibilities will include:

• Management and development of a small team (2)
• Responsible  for the provision of timely and accurate reporting to external reinsurance partners
• Responsible for the provision of internal reporting and MI for reinsurance arrangements, highlighting key trends and performance to relevant stakeholders
• Responsible for the cash management of the reinsurance arrangement, liaising with external partners
• Ensure a robust control environment for reinsurance accounting
• Work with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure new reinsurance arrangements are correctly implemented within finance and the wider business
• Continually seek to drive improvements across the team

Who we are looking for:

• Strong finance accountancy background, ideally with strong understanding of insurance accounting.
• Experience of working in a large and complex business, preferably within financial services or insurance
• Applicants with a background in practice will be considered if they can demonstrate a track record of working with clients in the insurance sector
• Strong working knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP
• Excellent communication skills, driven, high energy, with a team focus
• Demonstrable problem solvency skills
