An exciting opportunity has arisen within a well-respected and vibrant Charity based in the heart of London, that is currently looking for a qualified Head of Finance Improvement Projects to join its dynamic finance team.

Reporting to the Direct or of Finance the successful candidate will be responsible for managing a Team of five (currently three systems accountants and two project managers), as well as owning the functionality of the Finance Systems and its interfaces. The Candidate will represent Finance on all complex cross organisation systems and process projects.

Duties to include:


  • To lead, manage and develop the Financial Improvement Projects Team to ensure that:
  • they plan, manage and implement projects to a high standard
  • they maintain existing systems and processes appropriately
  • they regularly review the access and use of the existing systems within company policies

  • To own the Finance Improvement Project Plan, managing the dependencies within the Finance Team and the wider organisation, particularly Technology
  • To oversea the portfolio of Finance Improvement Projects, reporting regularly to the Director of Finance on progress against the plan
  • To work closely with the other Finance Heads to develop plans to improve systems and processes to support the Finance Teams to be efficient and effective
  • To develop relationships across the company, particularly in the Technology and Strategy Teams to identify organisation wide projects that could impact on Finance Systems and Processes
  • Represent Finance on Project Boards as appropriate

  • Requirements:

    • Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
    • Solid staff Management experience
    • Solid Systems and Project accounting experience, including extensive experience of implementations and improvement projects
    • Solid experience of financial systems (ERP) management
    • Solid experience of financial reporting
    • Advanced Excel skills
    • Excellent communication skills - demonstrable experience of regularly interfacing with management across the business
    • Strong team working skills
