Purpose of the Post To be responsible for all aspects of management & financial reporting To control the Treasury/Debt function & thereby maximise group cash resources To be the financial representative of the Company within the group and externally To be responsible for the "data management & accuracy" of the software systems To be an active senior member of the small team including administration functions when required
Duties and Tasks Finance Reporting & Planning

  • To ensure all accounting reporting requirements are delivered in a timely and accurate fashion to the Business Head and Group Finance staff.
  • Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts and KPI's
  • Weekly reporting of business results according to Group deadlines
  • Analysis of financial metrics
  • Produce management accounts for additional divisions/subsidiaries
  • To ensure debts are chased in accordance with procedures
  • Produce annual statutory accounts and liaise with auditors.
  • Be responsible for the treasury function & produce cash forecasts.
  • Visit company offices to ensure compliance with accounting procedures
  • Preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
  • Responsible for the submission of the quarterly vat returns
  • Ensure inter company accounts are fully reconciled

Systems

  • Become fully conversant with global financial system
  • Take ownership of financial systems ensuring business needs met
  • Liaise with group finance team to ensure UK business issues resolved
  • Ensure relevant employees are always fully trained on finance system
  • To continuously look at ways in which accounting systems & software can be improved in conjunction with the Group finance team and Business Head.
  • Resolve any "data interface" problems relating to these systems.

Management

  • Be an active participant in the senior leadership of the business.
  • Regular and open communication with Business Head
  • Risk management by ensuring compliance with statutory company requirements and keeping up to date on changes
  • Represent UK business in group financial forums including attending in person or remotely
  • Identifying and addressing financial training needs for staff.
  • Prioritise work within the finance department to ensure deadlines are met
  • To attend training and personal development courses as requested by the company ensuring full and active participation.

General and Other Duties

  • Undertake any reasonable duties / reports as dictated by Business Head / Group Chief Financial Officer / Group Chief Executive Officer that are within your skills and capabilities


Person Specification The ideal candidate should be self motivated, enthusiastic, have strong leadership & communication skills and be willing to travel.

Knowledge of the industry and current ways of working Desirable
Experience in delivering financial reports to director level Essential
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Essential
Experience in the implementing new financial systems Desirable
Experience in financial and reporting requirements of cross border trade Desirable
Ability to prioritise work and work to strict deadlines Essential Experience in financial forecasting and budget management Essential
Effective and confident formal and informal communication skills Essential
Flexible work ethic & willing to travel Essential
Qualifications Essential / Fully qualified ACCA, CIMA, ACA Essential / Degree level Desirable
Salary:- £55 - 65k per annum Benefits:- Discretionary bonus opportunity Full medical including dependants after 6 months Defined contribution pension Conditions:- Hours : 40 hours per week with some flexibility Holidays : 22 days increasing to 25 days over 3 years
