Our Client are a not for profit organisation based on the outskirts of Leeds City centre, within walkable distance from Train / Bus Stations and with free parking on site. They have an immediate opportunity for a part qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent Accountant / Finance Business Partner to join them for an initial 3 month fixed term contract period, to assist through a period of change in team structure, there is a strong possibility the contract will be extended and could even become permanent.
The role will take responsibility for:
Providing insightful analysis, operational reporting and building effective relationships across the business and an ability to both apply and share your financial expertise will directly support and influence teams and support managers in improving financial performance.
*Challenging cost areas and helping managers to take the best decisions for their services and the organisation
*Supporting regional and front line managers on their financial performance
*Providing proactive performance reporting, including monthly management accounts and variance analysis
*Leading analysis that drives a deeper level of understanding of the key drivers of financial performance
*Driving the budgeting and forecasting activities
*Working closely with the corporate finance team to ensure smooth transition of month end activities
*Providing regular financial reports to the Finance Director and Senior Management Team on financial performance
As a finance business partner in this organisation you will be working in a fast paced environment where every day is different and should have proven experience of operating effectively in a similar environment.
You will demonstrate competency in the following areas:
*Strong analytical skills with the ability to spot and highlight trends
*Experience of accounts preparation from TB to final accounts
*Ability to clearly explain/interpret complex financial issue to non-financial operational contacts
*Strong influencing, relationship and stakeholder management skills
*Confidence to challenge budget managers when appropriate
*Commercially astute
*Resilient and flexible - able to deal with contentious issues and ever changing/competing priorities
*Advanced Microsoft Office skills, in particular advanced Excel
