Detailed Job Description

CIL Management Consultants are currently looking for a bright and motivated Finance Manager to join their team in the Frome office - located in the beautiful Somerset countryside near Bath and commutable from Bristol and Hampshire.

With strong revenues and profits growing by CAGR 20%, this presents an exciting opportunity for someone looking to help continue to professionalise the finance function and help the business grow sustainably. The successful candidate will report to the Finance Director and work alongside a team of three others in the finance department - all based in Frome, which acts as the head office.

This role has the potential to develop into a future Finance Director position, therefore the ability to demonstrate leadership qualities is key.

The Finance Manager will be expected to carry out the following activities:

  • Monthly management reporting; 
  • Preparation of annual budget;
  • Preparation of annual business plan; 
  • Finance / accounting training for graduate management consultants;
  • Assisting in selection and implementation of an ERP system; 
  • Additional support to the Finance Director and other partners with ad hoc projects as required.

Candidate's Profile

The successful candidate will meet the requirements detailed below:

Essential requirements:

  • Be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (or international equivalent) significant post qualification experience; 
  • Have an exceptional eye for detail with strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Be motivated by making the finance function and business as a whole, run more efficiently; 
  • Hands-on attitude;
  • Dynamic way of working to meet the demands of the management consultants; 
  • A keen sense of humour and broad shoulders.

Desired requirements:

  • Experience working in a fast-paced professional services firm; 
  • International experience - we have exciting plans for overseas expansion, so some knowledge of managing that from a finance perspective would be invaluable;
  • Experience of implementing an ERP system; 
  • Experience of supervising / line managing other members of a finance team.
