We are very excited to be looking for an Assistant Accountant to join the Emily and Fin team. The Assistant Accountant position is an 'end-to-end’ role, covering all aspects of finance within the business. The Assistant Accountant role is a newly created position and we expect the role to develop quickly, especially with the projected growth the business expects in the short term. It is therefore crucial that the eventual Assistant Accountant candidate is highly adaptable and willing to undertake the all-encompassing role that will evolve as the team and company does. Working in close collaboration with the Financial Controller and wider team your role will involve the following
Key Responsibilities:
- Nominal/general ledger management (multi-currency)
- Tracking, recording and monitoring expense claims, including Credit Card expenses
- Tracking and recording bank payments and reconciliations
- Tracking and recording E-Commerce payments and reconciliations
- Tax data reporting/Intrastat/VAT and EEC Sales List
- Debtors and creditors control and monitoring
- Production of agent commission statements for review
- Assisting with cash-flow monitoring and forecasting
- Input to the budgeting and forecasting processes
- Assisting with the Year-end process including calculation of pre-payments & accruals
- Insurance and 3rd party contracts
- Reconciling Balance Sheet Accounts
Candidate requirements:
- AAT qualified, ACCA/ACMA part qualified or qualified by experience
- Experience of, or interest in working for a SME company, covering all aspects of finance
- Sage experience preferred (L50)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all levels
- Strong data interrogation and analysis skills
- An interest in the fashion industry would be an advantage
- Excel Skills including Pivot Tables
