Haig&Co are working with a very successful specialist engineering business based in Warwickshire to assist them in finding an experienced Financial Accountant to work closely with the CFO.

The Role:

As Financial Accountant, you will have responsibility for the daily, weekly and monthly reporting, budgeting and forecasting which will contribute to the proactive operation of the business, as well as the effective management of the Ledgers and ensuring group reporting guidelines and local adherence to legal obligations. This role will very much be the "right hand" of the CFO and at times will oversee day-to-day operations when required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Overseeing Finance Assistant with coding and posting of general invoices and expenses
• Monitoring and posting of intercompany invoices
• Payments runs and processing
• Preparation of monthly accruals and prepayments as well as payment run
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts
• Preparation of bank and cash reconciliations
• Monthly preparation of Intrastat returns and Sales lists
• Assist in the preparation of annual statutory accounts
• Assist in the compilation and supervision of annual budgets
• Preparation of quarterly VAT returns
• Dealing with supplier queries and maintaining supplier accounts and filing system
• Other ad hoc duties

The Person:

• Qualified (CIMA/ACCA) or QBE or equivalent
• Must have previous experience of working as a Financial Accountant within manufacturing/engineering environment
• Strong technical accounting skills - FRS102 & IFRS
• Passionate with a meticulous approach to work and ability to report numbers in simple terms to tight deadlines
• A genuine interest in continuous improvement and development of internal controls to make improvements to accuracy and timelines
• Great team player with a common-sense approach
