Our Client:
Working exclusively with Seymour John, our client offers a warm people-focused culture and is a sophisticated, well-run business populated with high calibre professionals. The business is a true multinational offering equipment and technology solutions to customers, predominantly in the manufacturing sector. They can offer excellent long-term career development with a philosophy of seeking internal applicants first and foremost for all career opportunities. The high standards that everyone is committed to make it a place where you can learn to be world class in what you do.
The Opportunity:
The position of Management Accountant will report to and support the Financial Controller to meet the reporting requirements of the multinational Business Unit and of the Group. You will support the preparation and completion of monthly consolidated accounts and the formalised reporting to Group at each quarter end. You will need to review and question sites on their data and submissions, e.g. anomalies and deviations from forecast. You will also produce internal management accounting information to aid decision making.
The Management Accounting team monitors and provides advice on new financial reporting standards, policies and procedures and you will support and contribute to training our site accountants as required. Given the culture of continuous improvement you will be asked to support system implementations and enhancement projects from time to time, as well as reviewing current work practices, identifying and implementing improvements. This team also completes Internal Audit reviews of business unit sites with an emphasis on supporting process improvements rather than ‘pure’ financial audits.
This role forms part of the Actuals reporting team and therefore requires interaction with all members of the business unit finance team, the Business Unit CFO, all site accountants and internal and external auditors. There will be some travel from time-to-time to Europe and occasionally further afield.
As the business is growing, if you do not have the exact skills match but would still like to work with the finance team at this company, please get in touch so we can discuss future opportunities.
Skills and Experience:
- Ideally a fully qualified accountant ACA, ACCA, CIMA.
- Advanced Excel ability including Look Ups/Pivots and perhaps Macros.
- Sound knowledge and experience of accounting and reporting principles.
- Proven track record of working under pressure to strict deadlines.
- Ability to work with non-financial people and communicate financial information and concepts to them.
- A good communicator able to work seamlessly with other members of the team.
