This is a really exciting opportunity to head up the finance function for a fast expanding Fintech company in central London.

The role reports to the founder !

Financial Controller – policing ledgers, making journal entries
Reconciliations – Bank Accounts, Stock, Client Money, Counterparty
FSA Returns – FSA001, FSA002, FSA003, Client Money and Assets, FSA008
Responsibility for Client Money and Assets – regular review and application of FSA handbook
and regulations, maintenance of CASS Resolution pack
System – full understanding of entire system flow and data model, from trading and client queries
to back office and nominal ledgers.
Use of/ability to learn SQL and Excel in order to interrogate system, resolve queries and improve
efficiencies for control/reconciliation processes
Run year end audit, dealing with all auditor queries
Ad hoc tasks for MD /COO – producing reports, liaising with tax advisors
Opportunity
The successful candidate will be able to take on and develop a unique accounting role which is
both challenging and rewarding. They will be a vital part of a small team, assisting in
understanding and resolution of queries across the entire business and system, along with
maintaining the vital day to day aspects of the role – nominal ledger maintenance and review,
reconciliations, FSA reporting and query investigation and resolution. They will also have the
opportunity to drive the role to take on further responsibility within the business.
They should be adaptable, and technically strong as they will need to gain a thorough
understanding of the internal records system (built in house) as part of the role. The ability to
work independently and prioritise will also be key as the role requires someone who can take on a
variety of tasks and work effectively to meet deadlines.
Requirements
ACA qualified 1st time passes
Experience of Financial Services (auditing /financial control)
Strong technical accounting
Excellent communication skills – successful candidate will be required to communicate with all
levels of staff within the company on a day to day basis, along with external advisors and
suppliers
Strong Excel skills
