Interim CFO - Real Estate - Our Client is a well-established property developer and investor that has been operating for over 20 years within London. They focus in prime central London locations that they manage and their projects includes a mixture of residential and commercial developments. Our client has instructed us to find an experienced Chief Financial Officer to commit to a 12 month contract. The role will be varied and 'hands on', assuming responsibility for overseeing all aspects of accounting and finance for the company.

 

The Role will include:

  • Overseeing Monthly /Annual cashflow forecasts and reviewing the Group's cash requirements.
  • Organising shareholder funding loan agreements and associated documentation.
  • Preparing and issuing shareholder funding drawdowns and quarterly shareholder funding repayments.
  • Reviewing dividend payments within the group as well as authorising monthly ad-hoc payments when required.
  • Reviewing budgets and preparing annual overhead budgets.
  • Overseeing management accounting re. overheads, Profit vs. Actual, producing annual estimates and year end actuals.
  • Reviewing year end bookkeeping on the database and post journal entries as required for annual accounts preparation.
  • Managing audit/Independent review process with external accountants and respond to queries.
  • Filing statutory accounts and drafting annual tax computations/returns including corporation tax and partnership tax.
  • Reviewing monthly /quarterly VAT reports prepared by the Accounts Assistant.
  • Tax restructuring and forecasting.
  • Liaising with the property managers and surveyors in regards to Service charges, rent reviews, Insurance, utilities contracts, Legal queries, ground rent reports and VAT reports.
  • Liaising with the solicitors on all aspects of service charges, estate/head lease and development matters.
  • Overseeing company secretarial duties including preparing board minutes for UK entities and drafting board memos for approval.
  • Arranging insurance policies including contents, improvement works, inventories and valuations.
  • Maintaining register of leases, key information dates and property rental income schedule for shareholders.
  • Reviewing Heads of Terms, agreements on new and agreed leases as well as rent demands issued to tenants.

 

The Person: The successful incumbent will most likely be an ACA, although ACCA's will be considered with at least several years' practical experience of running the management accounting and reporting for a property Development business. You should also possess prior experience of working in a small business and be happy being 'hands on' and being involved in a diverse array of responsibilities. You should possess solid Excel skills and be organised and a confident communicator.
