Finance Analyst

RattrayParkin are recruiting for a Finance Analyst to join a small and highly successful business based just North of Leicester. Due to a recent acquisition and exciting business growth and large-scale investment, there is a need to recruit this new role to join the existing finance team. This is the first role of this nature and can offer a lot of development potential.

The role will primarily be involved with large data streams and inputting this into a newly created modelling tool that has been built in Excel. A lot of this information will be used to support future acquisitions and support investment decisions for the sales and marketing team. As well as the technical aspects, you will also be expected to be able to offer a commercial overview and liaise regularly with key stakeholders. A large part of the role will be to deliver investment appraisals and support the investment decision making and advising on `go or no go` investments.

The key areas of focus will be:

• Working with large data sets - operational, financial and personnel.
• Entering data into Excel
• Investment support
• IRR/ROI calculations/modelling
• Cash flow reports
• Produce regular reports
• Interpret and analyse results
• Review Excel models and suggest improvements
• Offer commercial overview
• Regular interaction with senior managers and corporate investors
• Occasional travel

The role is a combination of analytical skills, some accounting related work and regular Excel use but also the commercial/investment input and stakeholder engagement. 

The important aspect is your ability to support the investment decision making through comprehensive analysis of investment, capital projects and IRR/ROI. You will also be expected to challenge figures and ask questions when needed.

You need to be able to communicate clearly in a fast-moving environment.
