The position will be challenging and varied giving the successful candidate a great opportunity to travel and fully utilise their finance and business skills.

International Accountant and Internal Auditor – Helsby, Cheshire with frequent UK and International Travel

This is a busy challenging opportunity reporting to the Group Finance Director providing financial support and advice to the International businesses in the Group and also developing and then delivering an Internal Audit function.  This role will encompass:

  • International Financial Support
  • Assisting International directors with understanding their financial data
  • Reviewing KPI data with local management
  • Assist with identifying improvements in financial performance and working capital management in the International businesses
  • Documenting financial policies & procedures across the RSK Group plc
  • Provide advice on improvements in procedures and controls
  • Develop Internal Audit scope and annual plans
  • Perform and control the internal financial audit cycle
  • Offering advice and guidance to staff and providing training as necessary
  • Reporting on the Internal Audit Process monthly to the Group Finance Director
  • Report to the Audit Committee Annually
  • Work with newly acquired companies to align them with the RSK Policies & Procedures

Desired Experience

CCAB Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA) with experience of working in an internal audit role. Experience of working in Industry, particularly in a professional services business an advantage.

  • High proficiency with IT systems with advanced Excel skills and experience of working with databases
  • Personable and confident 
  • European Language skills an advantage
  • Self-motivated, self-starter
  • Able to work independently, to one-off deadlines and regular timetables
  • Able to review, understand and accurately document business processes
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Able to deal comfortably with all levels of staff and management
  • Confident to develop an internal audit programme
  • Ability to manage and review large amounts of data and to compile detailed reports
  • Proven knowledge of auditing standards and procedures, laws, rules and regulations
  • High attention to detail and excellent analytical skills
  • Sound independent judgement
  • Pragmatic, commercial approach
