An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Wells Cathedral as our new Finance Manager.

Wells Cathedral has an annual turnover of circa £2.7 million, including some £650k from its two trading subsidiaries.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leadership and management of the Finance Team
• Preparation of monthly management accounts including variance reports
• Preparation of annual report and accounts
• Planning, management and reporting of cash flow
• Preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
• Providing advice and guidance to the Chief Operating Officer and Chapter.
• Supporting heads of departments and Chapter with relevant, accurate and timely financial information
• Liaising with external parties including funding bodies

We are seeking:

• A qualified accountant with post-qualification experience
• Awareness of the requirements of the Charity sector reporting and the Charity Commission
• Ability to present financial management information and reports in a meaningful and clear manner
• Structured and analytical thinking
• A proactive and professional approach
• Commitment to producing high quality work with an attention to detail whilst managing tasks and deadlines
