My exclusive client has a fantastic and exciting opportunity available for a Financial Controller to join the company on an interim basis.
The company in question is part of a group and is one of the largest in their industry. They have won numerous awards and they strive to be the best.
Reporting to the Finance Director the duties and responsibilities will include:
*Responsible for all aspects of financial communication to exec producing accurate, timely period end reports.
*Manage preparation and provide analysis of MTP and forecasting
*Develop systems and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective management of the company's finances.
*Using a financial control framework, including financial accountabilities and authorities to ensure full financial control.
*Ensure accounting policies comply with the relevant accounting standards and that group policies are followed.
*Recommend changes that will improve the company's financial performance and financial controls.
*Management of production of statutory accounts and liaising with auditors and Group. Act as the main point of contact to external auditors and provide all required information.
*Review of variances to budget and forecast and established reasoning.
*Setting targets and driving performance through effective management and resource utilisation
*Researching and reporting on factors influencing business performance
*Have strong organisational skills including identifying opportunities for business improvement identifying issues and implementing change
*Lead and participate in all financial operations of the company including reporting, forecasting, invoicing and cash management, accounts payable/receivable and payroll
*Lead and participate in the monthly accounting close ensuring timeliness, accuracy, completeness and compliance with policies
* Tax compliance including income tax, VAT and corporation tax
* Support the implementation of new processes and controls and the implementation of new systems
*Possess strong technical financial reporting and accounting skills and strategic management knowledge
*Maintain a good understanding of the relationship between income, costs and key business metrics to aid senior management decision making
*Perform related duties as assigned by line manager
*Provide excellent support to direct reports, challenging and motivating performance
*Contribute to company strategy and success through attendance at executive meetings.
The Person
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
*Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel and Outlook)
*Fully Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA)
*Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude
*Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
*Have an excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
*Demonstrates ability to manage cashflow with accurate forecasting
*Ability to influence people effectively in other departments and organisations
*Energetic, proactive, analyses key reports
