Finance/Supply Chain/Operations Controller,6 Months Fixed Term Contract £30-35K (pro rata'd) Birmingham


Your new company
A leading private eye healthcare provider is looking to recruit an Operations Controller (Finance/Supply Chain/Operations) on a 6 month Fixed Term Contract, paying between £30,000 - £35,000 per annum.

Your new role
To drive ownership of efficient operational coordination, execution and cost management within the hospital ensuring effective links with functional owners at the centre. This is a broad role, with the following responsibilities;

  • Own the order to invoice process including documentation creation, matching and coding, obtaining approvals and chasing back orders.
  • Perform the weekly capture and analysis of materials (stock and consumables) usage - clinical and non-clinical
  • Manage the monthly reconciliation of materials purchases, usage and stock holding levels (Optegra currently infers materials usage each month from monthly stock takes and purchases)
  • Manage the weekly reconciliation of surgical activity with materials usage, surgeon invoicing and patient invoicing
  • Provide administrative support for the monthly stock take process (e. capturing stock levels, completing ancillary schedules)
  • Manage day-to-day interactions with central suppliers (escalate to central owners where repeated issues) and manage any local suppliers end-to-end (mostly facilities and hospital controllable suppliers)
  • Review aggregate procedure level data and identify trends, variance and take necessary actions, etc. with support from clinical team administrator (monthly)
  • Provide information to support central consolidation of monthly KPI/performance


What you'll need to succeed
You MUST have the following experience;

  • Finance administration skills (matching of goods receipt notes to POs/invoices and generation of accruals plus data entry)
  • Solution focused, organised individual with strong attention to detail
  • Structured and organised way of working, able to challenge non-compliance
  • Experience of building and developing strong relationships to achieve results in the role
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Outlook) and experience of dealing with low tech, manual systems

Preferred experience;

  • Specific knowledge re materials and stock management
  • Experience in working in supply chain environment
  • Experience with data capture and analysis
  • Experience with facilities management
