Senior Financial Analyst

Reporting to: Financial MI Manager

Position Summary

As part of a team of three, produce timely and accurate financial management information for key stakeholders.  Provide analysis and commentary on monthly and quarterly financial results in order to support the business in its decision making.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate production of monthly, quarterly and annual financial management information, including:
  • Gross written premium production
  • Underwriting result
  • EPI exhibits
  • Rate and retention reports
• Collation of financial board reports for all entities
• Monthly review and analysis of financial results to provide commentary to CFO and Group
• Prepare quarterly financial results analysis pack, including variance analyses vs. prior, plan and forecast
• Assist the Financial Systems & Close team in their production of the financial result
• Support the underwriting function by presenting monthly and quarterly results and answering ad-hoc queries from the business
• Collaborate with the Corporate Development & Strategic Planning team to ensure that all elements of the financial process are consistent
• Work with Data & Analytics team to develop online MI, including new reports
• Provide financial and systems training to all relevant areas of business
• Assist in financial projects, working with IT and other areas of finance, including testing and reconciliations of new systems and processes

​Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

• Demonstrate good analytical and problem solving skills
• Understanding of insurance accounting and accounting principles
• Understanding of Lloyd’s accounting
• Knowledge of online MI systems (e.g. Tableau)
• Proficient in Excel
• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience
