Management Accountant

This is a newly created Management Accountant role for an exciting investment business and sits within the Specialist Finance team who are responsible for the regulatory reporting of the VCTs, the preparation of management accounts, preparation of Annual Reports, presentation to the Boards, managing the audits dealing with tax returns and liaising with other departments within the company on ad hoc queries. This role will be responsible for one of the listed VCTs and assist with all aspects of fund management.

Reporting into the divisional Financial Controller whose own reporting line is to the investment manager.  This role is ideal for someone with an interest in management accounting, strong accounting technical skills and with ideas on how to improve processes and implement change.

Responsibilities:

• Monthly & quarterly management accounts preparation
• Preparation of budgets and cash flows
• Review bank journals
• Preparation of weekly NAVs and LSE announcements
• Maintaining master data to track all investments
• Production and presentation of the Board pack
• Identify areas for improvement across management information and reporting
• Supporting the team through the investment process, invoice preparation and other day to day tasks
• Adhoc projects

About you:

• ACA or ACCA qualified accountant with up to two years experience
• Strong academics – Degree educated (2:1 or higher, from a good uni)
• Audit background strongly preferred
• VCT accounting experience beneficial but not essential
• Good interpersonal skills
• Self starter with strong initiative
