Senior Financial Accountant needed for growing Technology business in Berkshire!

£50,000 - £60,000

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Financial Accountant to join a growing Technology business.

This role is a pivotal role within the Finance team responsible for internal and external financial reporting and financial compliance based at the company head office. For an individual with attention to detail and focus, this is a great opportunity to make a big impact and become a valued member of the leadership team. This position is well suited to an ACA qualified accountant from a small firm looking to make their first move out of practice or someone who already has a couple of years industry experience of working for a growing business.

To successfully deliver in this high-profile position, you will need to have:

  • University degree.
  • Professional Qualification (ACA qualified in smaller practice firm preferred).
  • Experience of working for an SME within a small Finance team.
  • Experience in a financial accounting environment, with a thorough working knowledge of financial accounting to statutory accounts level, including Purchase, Sales and General ledgers.
  • VAT, forecasting, budgeting, accounts reconciliation, P&L analysis and cost control experience.
  • Strong ability to prepare professional and accurate reports including variance analysis and previous experience of reporting on a range of KPIs.
  • Ability to hit deadlines and organise deliverables around those deadlines.

A little more information about the role:

  • Overall responsibility for the General Ledger; from bookkeeping the day-to-day company financial transactions to preparation of accurate month end financial statements on a timely basis.
  • Assisting the Financial Controller in preparing weekly cash forecasts by updating key data on a daily basis and providing support during annual budget process.
  • Preparation of annual statutory financial statements and supporting schedules for the auditors, quarterly VAT returns and other HMRC tax compliance and external compliance reports.
  • Ensuring strong internal control processes are adhered to minimize risk, improve efficiency and maximise business performance.
  • Ad hoc project work, budget forecasting and financial analysis as required to support the Financial Controller and CFO.
