Ball Corporation, a market leading multi-national business, has partnered with Robert Walters to recruit an experienced and motivated Finance Manager to join the team based in Luton. As the Finance Manager, you will take ownership for a large European remit specialising in cash, cash-flow and forecasting across the business.

Finance Manager key role responsibilities:

Cash reporting:

• Responsible for preparing and explaining budget and forecast sector balance sheet and cash-flow; updating with rolling forecasts between quarters as required. (With particular emphasis on working capital.) Look for ways to continuously improve accuracy and efficiency of forecasts and budgets.
• Take ownership of large EU remit for cash flow and forecasting
• Good internal and external stakeholder exposure with wider business and customer vendors, business partner operations and drive deficiencies through process.
• Responsible for understanding and explaining actual sector balance sheet and cash-flow, including analysis compared to forecast, budget and prior year. (With particular emphasis on working capital.)
• Manage cash performance to achieve cash targets.
• Develop cash-flow and working capital dashboard and reporting metrics for senior management.
• Prepare and present analysis on cash flow and invested capital to VP of Finance and executive meetings.

Manage working capital:

• Manage counter-party risk via quarterly customer exposure reports.
• Monitor and understand sector customer over-dues.
• Manage implementation of Vendor supply chain finance programme (SCF) with Banking entities
• Assist Corporate Treasury with roll-out of customer factoring programme
• Responsible for the implementation and management of customer SCF programmes
• Identify opportunities to improve invested capital and cash-flow, and support other functions in their improvement projects

UK Banking:

• Maintenance of bank mandates/electronic banking forms for SCMC/UK
• Oversight of corporate & purchase cards - authorisation and issuing of cards, accounting for spend and regular reviews of spend

Key stakeholders:

• EU Executive team, Corporate HQ US, Corporate Treasury Exec team, EU customers and vendors.

Finance Manager key role requirements:

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or overseas equivalent) 2 years+ post qualified experience
• University Degree
• Managing within a multi-national finance environment.
• Experience of working with executive/board level members
• Strong team player with inter-personal and inter-cultural sensitivity
• Strong Technical accountant
• Experienced excel user
• ERP Systems experience
• Drives for results- creating a culture of continuous improvement
• Strong analytical thinking
• Strong attention to detail
• Confidence to interact with and challenge colleagues from other departments, and with plants (at all levels)
