Finance Analyst

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified commercial accountant to join a large operational division of a Milton Keynes based blue chip business where you will support the delivery of objectives, providing insight and challenge to drive performance. This role as part of a wider team drives business performance by effectively business partnering across operational and sales teams. The team partner key stakeholders to make informed and effective commercial decisions, and maximise value creation.

Breaking down the role further, you will be responsible for the forecasting and reporting of business performance for sales, margin and stock. You will deliver timely day-to-day forecasting, analysis and performance commentary using inputs from the FP&A team. Act on decisions to close gaps in actual financial performance vs. target collaborating with the category teams. Track and understand the financial impact of action plans, and help drive these through to completion. Deliver timely and accurate day-to-day reporting, planning, budgeting & forecasting activities with guidance from the Finance Manager. Evaluation of capital investment and/or new business initiatives including the financial ramifications, risks and opportunities, and that expenditure against capital projects is committed using the agreed approval processes. Training and provision of tools to the trading teams to raise commercial awareness, financial acumen and improve decision-making.

As the ideal candidate for this role you will be a qualified accountant CIMA, ACCA, ACA, ICAS and have a strong understanding of the expectations within a commercial finance role. You will have a high level of ability using Excel and preferably Access as well and be able to analyse complex data and present and explain it in a simplified manner.
