Can you influence key decisions for transport within Greater Manchester, by partnering the project teams in the delivery of an extensive capital programme? We have an excellent opportunity for a driven Accountant to support the business through a significant period of change.
TfGM oversees transport in Greater Manchester, delivering and improving transport services, facilities and information to make travel easier for everyone. We deliver high-profile, large-scale transport projects such as the expansion of the Metrolink network to the Trafford Centre and new state of the art rail & bus inter-changes in Bolton, Wigan, Ashton and Stockport. Greater Manchester is changing. With a growing population and economy, and one of the most significant devolution agendas nationally, this is an exciting time for transport in Greater Manchester.
Offering you exposure to senior management and different areas of the business you will have full ownership of financial reporting for your areas of responsibility. This will provide you with the opportunity to inform and influence decision making which directly impacts on the people and places of Greater Manchester.
You will be the first point of contact for finance in your areas of responsibility, partnering with both finance and non-finance stakeholders. You will provide and review routine and ad-hoc reports, ensuring that the information supplied is insightful and relevant. You will also support business cases aligned to the organisation’s strategic priorities as well as being fully involved in budgeting and forecasting which are critical to our success. As part of this you will continually improve and develop the management and project accounting procedures.
You will be a part or newly qualified accountant and ideally you will have previous either capital or revenue project experience. You will have business partnering experience working with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
In return, as well as a competitive salary, we offer a fantastic range of benefits, including:
- free home to work travel by train or Metrolink within the Greater Manchester boundary;
- free bus travel across Greater Manchester;
- 27 days annual leave;
- access to the local government pension scheme.
If you are looking for a finance role which will really allow you to influence business decisions and believe you can contribute to our continued success we would really like to hear from you!
At TfGM we welcome and encourage applications from everyone regardless of age, disability, gender, ethnicity, religion and sexual orientation. We are actively building a diverse workforce and want to create an inclusive environment as we recognise the importance of our workforce reflecting the communities we serve.
