This market leading design and manufacturing business provides innovative solutions to organisations across a diverse range of sectors. Following major investment to develop a new range of products they are now enjoying steady expansion and planning strategic growth across a range of new markets. They are now seeking to appoint a manufacturing Site Accountant to cover two locations (Manchester & West Yorkshire) to assist the Finance Director and support decision making for on-site teams. This new vacancy will have the following responsibilities:
- Month-end close, preparation of management accounts and reporting.
- Provide financial support and decision-making to SMT on both sites
- Develop and maintain the cost accounting system
- Analysis of production variances and cost of production,
- Work with the Production teams to improve performance.
- Understanding product profitability and identifying opportunities to improve margin.
- Capex appraisal
- Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and other month-end postings.
- Managing and tracking overheads, working with cost centre owners to maximize benefit from any spend.
- Set-up supplier accounts and input supplier master data changes
The ideal candidate for this role will be a qualified management accountant with experience of cost accounting and manufacturing. A strong communicator with the ability to influence others and present financial data in a meaningful manner. The position will be Manchester based but will also require travel to the site in West Yorkshire, the ability to plan your time and operate with a degree of autonomy will therefore be important.
