Axon Moore are currently partnering a PE backed SME in Harrogate City Centre that has experienced double digit growth in recent years with this trend expected to follow. This opportunity would suit an ambitious individual from a Financial Accounting background looking to undertake their 1st step to Financial Controller.
Our client is looking for someone who can be the cornerstone of the finance function and represent the finance function across the business.
The successful candidate will be expected to undertake a varied role with strategic and hands-on elements in equal measure. The company boasts a unique culture which they’re immensely proud of, and to this end the successful candidate will fit the collaborative style of the business.
Key responsibilities include:
All aspects of financial management & financial control of the accounting systems and processes
Assist in preparing the board pack providing analytical analysis on key KPI’s
Overhead control via direct stakeholder management
Ensure Statutory accounts are properly prepared for audit
Preparation and submission of VAT and Corporation Tax returns
Preparation of Bank reconciliations
Complete ownership of sales and purchase ledger
Build close relationships with all team members and external stakeholders to help financial accountability across all teams and individuals
Active role in monitoring working capital and cash flow
Ownership of the payroll function for the business
Ad hoc projects
The successful candidate will have the following background:
ACA, CIMA, or ACCA qualified
Previous experience of accounts prep from TB to Stat level
Personable individual with excellent communication skills
