Job Description

We are pleased to be offering this rare opportunity for a UK Qualified accountant to join a large Canadian conglomerate based in New Brunswick, Eastern Canada. JD Irving are looking for progressive and highly self-motived individuals to join their Accounting and Reporting team within JDI Finance. JDI Finance has over 250 accounting professionals at their Head office in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. They provide accounting and reporting, analytics, tax, corporate finance, treasury, transactional and other services to the various operating divisions of JDI.

To support their growth we are looking to help them hire progressive and highly self-motivated individuals to join their Accounting team.

As an Accountant within this progressive group you will be part of a team responsible for all of the accounting and reporting functions of a division of the Company. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Review and preparation of periodic financial statements and related reports
  • Liaise with the business to ensure clear communication of results, and identify opportunities to add incremental value
  • Identify and lead key initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting function
  • External audit liaison during interim and year-end audit process

 

The Successful Applicant

To be considered you should have the following attributes:

  • UK Qualified Accountant (ideally with experience in public practice, however technically strong candidates from industry will also be considered)
  • Excellent financial acumen and the ability to translate this into an operational understanding and providing support to non-finance professionals.
  • Ability to be flexible, effectively manage priorities, meet deadlines, and work in a team

 

What's on Offer

A salary range of between £45,000 and £65,000 depending on experience. A very competitive package (in a country where the cost of living is lower), a discretionary bonus, other large company benefits and sponsorship/a relocation package.
