We are seeking to appoint a talented and highly commercial Head of Finance who will be based in our operational hub in Knutsford, Cheshire. Reporting to our Managing Director you will oversee the Knutsford office and manage the Finance and IT & infrastructure needs of the business, effectively and efficiently. 

Your role will include the following responsibilities/skills:

  • Robust and timely monthly management reporting to the Board.
  • Production of weekly and monthly KPI reporting.
  • Routine bank reconciliations, daily cash flow management, including accurate forecasting of collections and outgoings.
  • Maintain controls and oversee Finance processes; monitor and identify improvements.
  • Sales invoice and purchase order processing.
  • Management of all aspects of payroll.
  • Monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet nominal ledger accounts.
  • Preparation of monthly prepayments and accruals schedules, work in progress, depreciation, interest allocation, gross to net salary journals.
  • Lead on the annual external audit process and the approval of year end statutory accounts.
  • Ensure regulatory reporting requirements are met, including HMRC PAYE/VAT filings.
  • Proficient in Excel spreadsheets with experience of detailed annual budget and periodic forecast preparation.
  • Arrange company insurances, pension scheme and all commercial supplier contracts and terms.
  • Maintain direct relationships with external auditors, tax & other advisors, bank representatives and the Company Secretary.
  • Lead on IT services requirements and liaise with the business’s IT contractor to ensure service levels are met.
  • Manage direct report/s with regular appraisal, task setting and feedback.

Expertise gained in an SME, professional services or B2B services sector would be advantageous.
