Property & Construction | High growth £50m t/o group | Broad No.2 role | Team management | Financial reporting & control | Commercial insight | Business partnering
Axon Moore is exclusively representing the Finance Director of a property and construction group, backed by a high net-worth individual, as they look to appoint a deputy to the FD as Financial Controller.
Currently turning over £50m, the business has a national presence, impressive WIP and contracts in place that will enable it to rapidly scale into a market leader. The business is lean, operating under a small team of senior managers with strong sub-contractor relationships. The Financial Controller will work closely with the Project Managers, acting as a business partner alongside the CEO. Despite the exposure to the board and executive team the CEO is looking to appoint an up and coming, entrepreneurial and ambitious accountant into a role that will provide an outstanding foundation for a career as a Finance Director.
A key component of this role will be to provide commercial insight with responsibility for performance reporting and will require a “hands on” approach to establishing robust controls and driving business performance. Key responsibilities will include:
- Annual budgeting and forecasting process, partnering key stakeholders throughout and continuing to monitor and reforecast.
- Implementing changes and process to improve and maintain financial integrity and controls
- Liaising with external auditors.
- Overseeing and supervising the junior finance team.
- Leading the business through year end- consolidation, statutory reporting and financial statements.
- Profit and Loss forecasting, commentary and analysis.
- Providing crucial management information and KPIs to senior stakeholders
- Preparation and presentation of monthly board packs
The business is led by a high calibre leadership team with many years’ experience operating in both private equity and construction across North West, making this an excellent opportunity to gain broad exposure and fast track to the top. The successful candidate will be required to work strategically with senior stakeholders whilst also being keen to be across the detail, developing a strong understanding of projects and the business as a whole.
