Decision Science Modeller | Investment Bank | Manchester City Centre | 35,000 |
Axon Moore has been engaged to recruit a Decision Science Modeller for a well-known investment bank based in Manchester city centre. This role sits within our client’s prestigious decision modelling team and promises superb career progression and prospects for the right candidate.
You will be responsible for helping the decision science team build and develop both operational and financial pricing models. You will create models both by yourself and by working as part of a larger team to produce larger suites of related models. You will also be tasked with engaging with stakeholders throughout the business and understanding their user requirements to enable you to offer the best solution to their needs.
This role will suit someone who has at least one year’s modelling experience in a commercial setting and is looking to progress their career further in the data science / big data sector. The successful candidate will enjoy modelling complex business scenario’s and be an enthusiastic, effective communicator.
Key responsibilities include:
- Production and development of operational & financial pricing models
- Creation of statistical models to help drive business wide operational strategy
- Engage with stakeholders and model users to understand model requirements
- Gather data to help build your models
- Performance monitoring and report creation for senior stakeholders
- Provide end user support for your models
The ideal candidate:
- Will be educated to degree level or above in a quantitative subject
- Have at least one year’s modelling experience in a commercial environment
- A working knowledge of common statistical metrics and methods
- Familiar with SQL
- A strong communicator
- Knowledge of financial analytics and experience in financial services desirable
