Financial Director

This leading UK digital venture capital fund has successfully built a tech start up portfolio that is transforming industries as wide ranging as FinTech, EdTech, Media and Sport. With a portfolio representing sales in excess of £300m, employing more 3,000 employees and incorporating £500m of assets under management, they have to date a successful track record with more than 40 companies.

Reporting to the Founders and Partners and working alongside the CEO, as an integral part of the management board the Finance Director will be responsible for propelling portfolio businesses to accelerate success, working closely with portfolio Finance Directors and management teams to drive performance.

You will be charged with developing best in class finance services design and delivery, whilst supporting and challenging financial management capability in portfolio companies, ensuring that financial systems and controls and the teams responsible are appropriate for the stage and priorities of the portfolio company.

Amongst your management responsibility will include overseeing a shared financial processing and management service centre and platform offering based offshore, with a UK team including Financial Controller delivering oversight and client management and cross portfolio financial reporting.

The successful candidate will be a Qualified Accountant with a proven track record of success as Finance Director supporting and driving growth from start up to scale up stages. Previous experience of managing an offshore and UK Shared Services Centre offering to multiple companies will be a distinct advantage. A desire to coach, mentor and develop portfolio company Finance Directors to foster a culture of best practice financial management will be essential to your success.
