A respected manufacturing business is looking to hire a Finance Controller to take ownership for their UK finance function. This role provides excellent exposure to senior stakeholders, both in the UK and overseas, and will give you the opportunity to hone your core accounting skills within a growing environment.

This role is a number one in finance role, and is supported by a three Finance Assistants. Therefore, you will be willing to roll up your sleeves and deal with detail, as well as proving a strategic high level overview to a variety of individuals.

Key responsibilities

  • Review organisational structure and staffing of the accounting department to effectively accomplish the department's goals and objectives.
  • General oversight and supervision of the accounting staff to include selection, training, orientation, performance reviews, wage recommendations, motivation, discipline, and other personnel matters.
  • Provide financial insight and analysis to management team to assist in identifying opportunities and issues that impact profitability
  • Provide accrual based monthly financial reports, key performance indicators and financial analysis. Prepare a variety of weekly and monthly reports to support and improve business unit performance and to comply with corporate requests.
  • Develop and maintain efficient accurate financial operations for processing orders from inception through customer payment while assuring that adequate internal controls are in place to protect company assets.
  • Maintain complete and accurate financial records including completion of account reconciliations and other financial system controls.

Requirements

  • Accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with 5 years plus of post qualified experience
  • Experience rolling up sleeves and running finance end-to-end
  • Ability to be commercial and strategic - for example, formulising budgets, understanding the commerciality of contracts
  • An extrovert who is happy to run all things finance, is comfortable in their own skin and who stakeholders will buy in to
  • SAGE200 experience
