Due to acquisition this high growth company based on the outskirts of Hemel Hempstead are seeking a technically astute Assistant Financial Accountant.

The finance team are a highly thought of department within the business and provide invaluable information to the wider business.

The role will support the Finance Manager with ensure the smooth production of the month end accounts

A snapshot on the duties…

• Month end accounting (including journal postings and reviews)
• Assisting with period vs period analysis, actuals v budget/forecast including proactive identification and explanation of variances;
• Producing periodic (13 periods per annum) balance sheet reconciliations that are compliant with SOX requirements highlighting any issues/understanding reconciling items and proactively summarising adjustments as and when appropriate
• Proactively understand accounting standards relating to this area and ensure keep on top of accounting developments having an impact on this area
• Assist other finance members and finance leadership team with ad hoc activities as and when requested
• Understand risks and opportunities associated with Balance Sheet accounts and ensure relevant accounting completed on timely basis
• Ensure BS reconciliations that are being prepared are actual reconciliations, maintain the standard of fixed reconciliations and proactively work to fix non- appropriate reconciliations
