UK Management Accountant

Axon Moore are recruiting for a newly qualified/finalist ACCA/ACA/CIMA Accountant to join an industry leading design and distribution business based in central Harrogate as a UK Management Accountant.

The business has grown from small beginnings at the turn of the millennium to a £20 million turnover operation in 2017, with strong market presence in mainland Europe, Australia and the USA. With plans to grow to £30 million over the next few years, the business finds itself at an interesting point with a number of key brand decisions ahead that will shape this role and potentially offer a number of unique opportunities within commercial industry. The Harrogate team itself is small in number but made up of high quality accountants, this role will join the CFO, Group Management Accountant and a newly recruited Group Financial Accountant within a high-skill team.

Reporting into the CFO, the role will work in conjunction with the Group Management Accountant and Group Financial Accountant in preparing the monthly management accounts and reporting for the UK, Australia and the distributors. Alongside the management reports the role will undertake monthly duties such as stock provisions, accruals and prepayments, journals, online payments, VAT returns, weekly sales reporting and annual budgeting.

Required is an ACCA/ACA/CIMA accountant, perhaps newly qualified or a finalist. The business needs more than a number cruncher, the role is suited to an agile thinker who will relish dealing with a number of variables and new challenges at unexpected times. High quality, effective management reporting skills and the ability to self motivate whilst working a small team are key. The role suits an applicant looking to work in an SME where they can gain full exposure to the business, those seeking a more focused role in a large corporate may not see this as the right environment.
