Financial Accountant

Your new organisation
My client is a finance team part of central government. The team is made up of seven finance professionals and is responsible for producing the organisation's annual financial statements. Due to a peak in workload they are currently recruiting for an interim financial accountant to join their team for a period of three months.

Your new role
Starting in April 2018 you will report into the team's finance manager and will be responsible for preparing end of year core and consolidated accounts, annual accounts and notes to the accounts. Your role will include liaising with departments, requesting contributions, preparation of accounts and relevant audit trail, meeting with auditors, providing auditors with accounting data and evidence of transactions, production of financial statements, completing submissions to HM Treasury and working closely with other team members to ensure consistency between consolidated accounts and trial balance. This job is full-time Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week. This role is based in the centre of Cardiff.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIPFA or CIMA) with previous experience of producing and consolidating end of year accounts / financial statements. You will have strong interpersonal skills, be IT literate and possess an ability to work effectively within a team. Due to the tight timeline of this project you will have an ability to work under pressure and handle competing demands with tight deadlines.
