Transactional Finance Manager

My client, a local and very well-established family run business, are seeking to appoint a dynamic and experienced Transactional Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable Manager to manage a small team and have overall responsibility for the Credit Control function of the business.

Reporting into the Senior Directors, this role will form an integral part of the business as the efficiency and accuracy that the role requires, will be essential to the ongoing success and growth of the company.

Main responsibilities:

  • Ensuring prompt receipt of invoices from suppliers. Ensuring these are then entered accurately onto in-house Sales Admin Systems.
  • Management of the Credit Control function - responsible for ensuring sound Credit Control is in place. Both ascertaining suitable credit levels for new customers and monitoring credit exposure and cover for existing customers.
  • New Customer Administration - establishing systems for managing New Customer Setup. Ensuring these systems are followed with excellent levels of internal compliance.
  • Responsible for reporting on key performance indicators for the business. This includes debtor days, creditor days, missing invoices / lapsed customer accounts, customer & supplier pricing accuracy.
  • Leading approximately 6-7 staff, both full-time and part-time personnel.
  • Respond to any other requirements of the business as directed by the General Manager.

This is a challenging and demanding role set in a fast paced and busy environment, so In order to be successfully considered for this role, you must have:

  • At least 5 years' experience of working in a similar position
  • Excellent knowledge of key IT systems including Sage 200 & Excel, including experience of pivot tables and spreadsheets
  • Previous supervisory/management experience and feel competent leading and motivating a finance team to build and maintain high levels of accuracy and efficiency
  • The ability to work in a deadline driven environment
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills
